Personal History | J'Lena's parents met at a social function on Gama Horami. It was at this function where they fell in love and subsequently married. J'Lena was born two years later on Quo'noS. Growing up an outsider was not a happy time for her. Teasing everyday by the other children made her angry to the point where she almost killed one of her teasers. Her father decided that it was time for her to enter into one of the prestigious academy's dealing with discipline and all aspects of engineering. Upon entering the first thing she did was establish herself as a force to be reckoned with. There was a fight and she did seriously injure the bully and she got reprimanded for it severely. It was only after this fight did she get the recognition needed for the teasing to stop and when that happened, she started to excel in her school work. Her love for engineering increased enormously and it astounded her instructors. J'Lena went through the first and second rites of ascension and was finally declared a warrior and with that she got the highest compliment from the High Council. With her parents sitting on the Council and both in engineering, they taught her everything they knew about ships and other engineering skills. With all this she still wasn’t happy and wanted to go further in her studies, so when she was 18 they entered her into Starfleet Academy. Thinking that the Academy would be a little easier, she soon found out that it was not. Especially being Klingon, the cadets shunned her and some even went as far as to tease her sorely. As it was back in her early school days she got into a huge fight with three cadets, all of whom she beat up badly, got reprimanded, but, the cadets she beat up went to the commandant and took the blame accordingly so she was not held liable for the fight. It did however, put a permanent mark in her record of her temper and that she was not to be teased in that manner. She soon learned how to control that temper of hers and the balance of her schooling went on with out any more incidents. She impressed her instructors with her knowledge of engineering and how she could jury rig different systems to make another system function until the main one could be repaired. On one occasion she had to pull apart the plasma manifold to find the blockage and upon finding the blockage, she found the the inside lining had been damaged and had to replace it. Not having the necessary pieces for the lining she had to completely replace the manifold which would have taken the better part of three hours, she got it done in under an hour and a half. That gave her a nickname of Miracle Child. Upon her graduation, J'Lena made a decision to make Starfleet her career and was subsequently assigned to the only ship she would serve, USS Mekong. J'Lena was pleased with landing this assignment. For the next eight years she served faithfully and rose through the ranks and made Lt. Cmdr. as her CEO. The only reason why she left was that the Mekong was towed back to base with intense battle damage to the point where she was summarily decommissioned. Now she is hoping to get assigned to the USS Churchill her next home. |
