Lt. Cmndr. Lazarus Kord departed the shuttle that had been escorted by the fighters from the USS Oceanus. With the arrival of the Oceanus - and arguably Kord himself - the Churchill would be in good hands - or claws. Taking a PADD provided by a Yeoman (who looked worse for wear) the Gorn proceeded towards the Captain's Ready Room after reading the instructions. He had to crawl up several Jefferies tubes which, thankfully, he had researched on his ride over suspecting he'd need them. Upon arriving at the Bridge, he was greeted and directed towards the Captain's Ready Room. Arriving, he knocked on the bulkhead.

"Lieutenant Commander Kord arriving as scheduled, sir," he reported.

James looked back at the Gorn and said "Wellcome to the Churchill Commander," he stated, " I am so glad we now have a Chief engineer," he held out his hand in greeting, and he finished speaking "We have one big mess here I can tell you," offering the Commander a seat.

Lazarus took the hand and gingerly shook. "Glad to be here, though now I understand the urgency of the request. I admit I've seen broken, Captain. This is right near there." There was a moment's pause as he sat in the offered seat, albeit creatively with his tail. "I've read the briefs from the Oceanus, sir, but from your viewpoint what are the critical areas you need me to focus on first?"

"We have tried to purge the system with a reboot from the back-ups but are not sure if it has worked" replied James looking back at his new CEO, "this has upset me dearly as I was brought out of retirement and given this ship,"as he felt unsure if this ship would still be allowed to finish its mission.

"I'll do my best to fix her," Lazarus promised. "If you'd like, I can get started."

"If you wouldn't mind giving me a complete status report of Engineering" he stated as he knew how bad it was down there, but he had not heard anything for a few days. But now he had a Chief who would get things back on track, repair the ship, and hopefully move.

"On it," Lazarus said, leaving the room promptly as he headed for engineering.

As James watched Kord leave his office, he knew that Engineering would now be in a safe pair of hands after the trouble they had, he also knew the officers down in Engineering would have a leader who would keep them on track and get the repairs done.
