Roslin reached the door and pressed the button to ring the chime. She could feel a sense of anticipation building up inside her as she waited for the captain to answer. The door was made of polished mahogany and had a brass handle that gleamed in the light. Roslin took a deep breath and adjusted her uniform, ensuring she looked presentable for the meeting. She had been looking forward to this day for weeks, and now that it was finally here, she wanted everything to go smoothly. After a few moments, she heard footsteps approaching the door, and her heart began racing excitedly.

James was going through the status reports from the department heads when he saw that the intelligence department
the head report was missing and the door chime was, he called out " Come" looking up from his desk as well as the Medical report was also missing.

Roslin walked into the office taking a deep breath in the process. "Lt. JG Elara Roslin Reporting For Duty"

"Please take a seat Lieutenant," as he stood and held out his hand in greeting, he continued," Would you like a drink? as he walked over to his replication unit to grab another coffee.

"No thank you, I am good" Roslin replied.

"Very well," replied James as he waited for the unit to make his drink, he said Lieutenant, please tell me a bit about yourself," although having read his service jacket, he wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth.

"What do you want to know?" Asked Roslin

"Everything" replied James, he continued "Although I have read your service jacket," he finished " I like to hear it from you" The replicator finished its work and the steaming hot beverage appeared on the shelf. He picked it up and headed back to his desk,

"Well, Average life of a trill, Not joined, Nothing too exciting about me" Roslin replied stiffly.

Ah," replied James looking back at the Officer in front of him leaning back into his chair, he asked, "Hope you don't mind me asking how many lives have you had?" taking a sip of his coffee.

"I said I wasn't Joined, So only the one I have now, I ain't no cat who has nine lives, Captain"

"Ah, I was just checking Lieutenant, you can not be too careful these days," replied James taking a sip of his coffee and leaning back into his chair, He said, I hope you enjoy your time on the Churchill Lieutenant,"

"Your an odd one captain, You even beat my teacher from the academy, I should enjoy my time, unless someone piss's me off"

"So my Wife tells me every day" replied James with a smile looking back at the Lieutenant as he finished "Dismissed"

"Yes Sir, See you around" Roslin then rose and left
